To all of my music friends…

I write this in the throes of our old year celebration. I’ve slipped out of my party to send you this last hoorah! of the year. It is with great awe and appreciation that I remember how wonderful 2009 has been and I feel very blessed to have had you as a part of it.

I wish you all the success that you’ve wished for and that you can handle for the new year. I trust that we will continue our wonderful relationship and that your music career will bring you all that you desire. 2010 looks to be very promising for those that have put the time and effort into their endeavors. I trust that you are one of the lucky ones…

Have fun, be merry, find success and most important of all… be safe.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Sincerely,

Duss Rodgers

Hey folks,

What with the big day only one night away and my kiddies goin’ bananas for tomorrow morning already, it got me thinking of the children throughout the world who don’t have as much as we have in North America. I realize that even in our own continent there are thousands of children who won’t have as great a Christmas as most of us and just that thought alone makes me want to give back something in return for everything I’ve been fortunate to receive… Read more

It’s unfortunate that there exist cowardly lowlifes in the world who live to feed like scum off of the backs of others but that my friends this is the reality of life. There will always be those who choose to make our lives miserable to better theirs…

Now that I’ve got that off of my chest I just wanted to talk a little bit about your musical gear, your health and insurance. If you don’t have insurance you really should think about getting some. I know it might seem like an expense that you feel you can’t afford today, but if not today then when? Read more

It’s pretty incredible that in these days of social media and information sharing that there are still victims of the “oops!” factor. As musicians it’s imperative that you consider how, what and when you post your opinions and personal information online.

True enough sharing information with your fans is essential to your survival and can be a welcome addition to your music marketing efforts as well as being a great booster for your online music sales… the caveat is that you also run the risk of over sharing. Read more

Branding and music are really two very different entities in terms of the levels of success generally achievable by independent musicians without huge conglomerate backing.
