Stick To Them Like Glue
Here’s a music marketing tip that you can put into play almost immediately that will bring you some returns on your small investment in a hurry. Go to your local print shop and have them print out some sticky notepads that list your gig dates in sequential order. You can even have them list things your fans should do on particular days…
For instance, you might make February, 12 the “Mi Bando Loco” (yes… I made that up) “Spread Some Love Day” and have your fans come to your website to drop comments of love and appreciation in your guestbook or comments section. (You do have your own website, right?) This creates a wave of visits to your site and if you’re really on top of your game you’ll have a special product offer to go along with their visit.
Hand these out at your shows and send them out with your packages. One thing that the media really loves (myself included) is to receive these sticky notes with your bands name and contact information on them. They tend to hang around our desks for a long time (useful little things aren’t they?)… and having your band name in front of the person who’s going to write about you is definitely a good thing.
Just some food for thought and another little tip that you might want to stack away in your music marketing toolbox. Remember, if you don’t take action it won’t happen!
To your success,
Duss Rodgers
